BIRMINGHAM (APP) - Durable peace in South Asia can not achieve without resolving Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and as per aspirations of the Kashmiri people. The international community must take effective steps for safeguarding the rights of Kashmiri people, including the right of self-determination. These views were expressed by speakers at a Kashmir Youth Conference organised here by Youth Forum of the Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK and chaired by Nazir Ahmed Qureshi, senior Vice President, World Kashmir Freedom Movement. The moot expressed complete solidarity with the struggling people of Jammu and Kashmir and assured that new generation of British-born Kashmiris will leave no stone unturned to realize the democratic right of Kashmiri people. Addressing the conference, Convener of the Youth Forum Tariq Mahmood said more than 100,000 innocent civilians have been killed in the past 20 years while death and destruction is still continued unabated. This all is happening because of Kashmir dispute that was left unresolved in 1947 under a conspiracy, he asserted. Holding Sheikh Abdullah family as solely responsible of Kashmiri peoples present sufferings, he said the family has been ruling the Kashmir for three generations with the blessing of New Delhi and they do not want to change the status quo of occupied state. Muzamal Ayub Thakur stressed the need for reawakening of new generation of Kashmiris and said their elders had offered unprecedented sacrifices for the Kashmir cause and it is their responsibility now to carry forward their mission by exposing brutal face of India before the civilized world. Mr Thokar congratulated Tehreek-e- Kashmir for organizing young generation of Kashmiris by holding such events. He said new generation of Kashmiris, born and brought up in a democratic environment is in better position to raise voice in favour of the oppressed people of the occupied Kashmir. Secretary General Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, Mufti Abdul Majid Nadeem said Tehreek-e-Kashmir is peacefully striving for rights of Kashmiri people with in the parameters of laws of the country. Speaking on the occasion, President, Tehreek-e-Kashmir, Moham-mad Ghalib said organizing the young Kashmiris at community level is one of the objectives of the organization. He announced to hold similar conferences in different parts of UK as a part of the campaign. Nazir Ahmed Qureshi chair of the conference in his concluding remarks said international community must impress upon India to resolve the issue for ensuring peace and stability in the region. He also urged India to immediately repeal repressive laws and put an end to the gross violation of human rights of the Kashmiri people. Paying tributes to the leadership of Syed Ali Geelani, he said leaders like Geelani are great assets for Kashmiri nation.
