The electronic appliances worth million of rupees were burnt allegedly due to the negligence of Gepco officials.

According to citizens, the electric transformer of Gala Telephone Exchange had been sparking for many days and people lodged complaints with the Gepco officials concerned repeatedly to get the fault rectified but no official responded to the complaints.

Due to which transformer caught fire and exploded while earth and neutral cable touched each others. Resultantly, electronics appliances of the consumers worth million of rupees were burnt.

The consumers and shopkeepers have protested against negligence of the Gepco officers and demanded replacement of transformer and compensation for their losses.

Five robbed of bikes, cash, cellphones: Five persons were deprived of two bikes, cellphones, cash and other valuables in two robberies here the other day.

According to Imran, he was on the way to village Walgan Buksha in precinct of Sukheki Police along with his two relatives. When they reached near the village, three robbers, riding a car, stopped them at gunpoint. The robbers snatched the bike, cellphones and Rs32,000.

The same robbers also robbed Ajmal of thousand of rupees, bound him hand and foot and threw him into fields after subjecting him into severe torture.

In another incident, three dacoits snatched a motorcycle, Rs1,500 and cellphone in broad daylight from Subhan, a resident of village Jaidke when he was going to village Madan Phalla. The police, as usual, have started investigation. Meanwhile, the Vanike Police have arrested an accused along with stolen from village Beriwala. The rice worth Rs0.7 million and owned by Munawar Tarar had stolen by the accused.
