rawalpindi - Rawalpindi police have arrested one of the four accused of snatching official weapons from cops after two years.

According to the Sadiqabad police, four armed persons on October 15, 2013 had snatched official weapons from the police officials on duty in the area of Dhoke Kala Khan. The accused misbehaved, put up resistance to the on-duty police officials including Head Constable Javed Akhtar, Constable Sajjad Iqbal, Constable Muhammad Sarfaraz and Constable Atif Niaz and succeeded to take away the official rifle of Constable Sajjad Iqbal along with 15 live rounds. The police registered a case against the accused under section 392, 155/C under PPC. The police have managed to arrest the ringleader of the gang, Syed Tanveer Abbas Shah, resident of Marri Warraichan Gujrat and also recovered the rifle.

SHO Sadiqabad police station, Malik Allah Yar told The Nation that Tanveer Shah has been arrested and sent to the jail for identification parade. He said the police were conducting raids at different points to arrest the remaining three accused.
