QUETTA - Three suspected terrorists were killed during a search operation in Hazar Ganji in the wee hours of Sunday.

The operation was conducted by security forces and intelligence agencies against terrorists involved in various acts of terrorism.

According to security officials, bombs, arms, hand grenades and explosive material were also seized in the operation.

They said the terrorists, whose identities were yet to be ascertained, were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces. Bodies were taken to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.

In another incident, at least four personnel of security forces were injured in rocket firing in Tump area of Turbat district on Sunday.

According to police sources, rockets were fired from unknown destination by unidentified men when security forces convoy was passing through the area.

As a result, four security personnel received wounds and were rushed to nearby hospital.

Security forces personnel cordoned off the entire area and started efforts to trace out suspects. Further investigation was underway.

THREE MILITANTS HELD IN DERA BUGTI: Frontier Corps (FC) arrested three alleged militants after exchange of firing in Killi Nabi area of Dera Bugti district.

According to FC spokesman, acting on a tip-off, FC personnel carried out a search operation in the area when they opened fire at them.

Three alleged militants were apprehended in retaliation.

The FC spokesman said that they were involved in sabotage activities and attacks on law enforcement agencies.

Further investigation was underway.

A high-level meeting of the Southern Command held in Quetta on Sunday reviewed law and order situation in Balochistan. Chairing the meeting, Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Aamir Riaz expressed satisfaction over the performance of law enforcement agencies.

He directed to take further steps for the eradication of terrorism in the province.
