A proclaimed offender was killed allegedly by his accomplices while another was killed in a separate shootout here on Sunday.

In Kasur, a notorious offender identified as Ghulam Rasool alias Tundi was alleged killed by his accomplices here the other day.

According to police, three unidentified accused snatched a motorcycle, cellphone and cash from one Rashid near power plant, Balokki including the Sara-i-Mughal Police precincts. On being called, the police reached the scene and after getting initial information, started chasing the accused. The Sara-i-Mughal police SHO spotted the accused near Mali Wala Pul. On seeing police party, the accused resorted to indiscriminate firing by taking positions. The police retaliated and the crossfire continued for some time. As the firing stopped, police found dead body of an accused who got killed by the firing of his accomplices.

The police also recovered the snatched motorcycle, other valuables and a pistol from the spot. The dead criminal was later identified as Ghulam Rasool alias Tundi, who according to the police, had been involved in more than 26 cases of heinous including robbery, murder and possessing illegal weapons. He was wanted by the police in Kasur and Lahore districts.

In Gujranwala, a dacoit was killed allegedly in a shootout with police in Kamoki area on Sunday. According to the police, three armed men were busy looting people near Ghunaya Kamoke.

After receiving information, the police party rushed to the spot. However, as soon as the dacoits saw the police, they started firing. The police retaliated and a shootout erupted whch continued for some time. As a result, one Majid alias Maju was killed on the spot while his two companions succeeded in fleeing the scene. According to the police, Majid was a proclaimed offended and wanted to police in many cases of dacoity and murder.

The dead body was shifted to hospital for autopsy and the police launched further investigation.
