SARGODHA - No intending Umrah pilgrim will be allowed to visit Saudi Arabia without biometric verification after February 6, sources confirmed to The Nation here on Wednesday.

Sources informed that the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad through a circular has issued new directives to travelling agents that no company will be authorised to issue visa to intending Umrah pilgrims without biometric verification.

The travel agencies have also been directed to not accept documents without fingerprints verification as any such application will not be entertained.

The agencies shave directed to follow the new rules to avoid hassle and delay in the issuance of visas to Umrah pilgrims.


The Punjab Health Care Commission (PHCC) authorities conducted crackdown on quacks and sealed more than 22 illegal clinics in the city area. The PHCC took action against 11 allopathic clinics, six dentists, four Orthopaedics quakes and one fake herbalist. The commission officials sealed their clinics and initiated further legal proceedings against them.
