GUJRANWALA - RPO Capt (r) Muhammad Amin Vains emphasized that the police officers must perform duties with missionary zeal and dedication. A devoted and honest official will be rewarded while stern departmental action will be initiated against corrupt officials.

He was addressing a meeting held at Police Lines Gujrat here on the other day.  Gujrat DPO Raja Basharat, DSPOs and SHOs from across the district were also present on the occasion.

"Police officers should utilise their capabilities for uprooting corruption and refrain from being proud, status conscious or indulge in any corrupt practice" stressed the RPO.

Speaking on the occasion, the Gujranwala Police Chief said that terrorism could be combated in a better way if intelligence information was received in concrete form as events of terrorism could never take place without local support.  Officials should enhance their coordination with intelligence departments to avoid any untoward incident.

"Close contact of the police with the people may help in tracing crimes in a better way. The cop should be a noble person and he should deliver justice to citizens without any fear and fright" Vains said.

"We will contact Interpol for the culprits who have flown to other countries in order to produce them before court of law", he claimed. "There will be zero tolerance for display of arms/weopons, and legal action will be taken against people involved in it, also movement of animals during night hours is prohibited in order to reduce their chance of being stolen," said the RPO.
