ISLAMABAD Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench judge Justice Ijaz Ahmad on a writ petition issued notices to Secretary Planning Commission and heads of Gender, Education and Governance sections of Planning Commission to file para-wise response in two weeks time to the points raised in the petition wherein the petitioners had submitted that they were tactfully ousted from the project to induct their blue-eyed persons. The petitioners Jibran Ahmed, Sadaf Ayub, Shabana Nawaz and Nadia Mehmood had filed a writ petition through their counsel Javed Iqbal Banday and submitted that they were engaged in a Planning Commission project Public Sector Capacity Building Project which was culminated in November 2009 but all them were asked by their superiors to continue working with the Planning Commission as they would be launching another project under the title Promoting Professional Excellence in Planning Commission/Planning and Development Division (Phase-I) with the funding of World Bank and they would be absorbed in it. So, all of them along with couple of other persons engaged with the project continued working with the Planning Commission for well over six months without salary as all of them were promised jobs on initiation of the new project. As all of them were having excellent reports from their respective heads, so under the pledge made with them they have to be accommodated in the next project and the only way to get rid of them was to arrange a test/interview. The petitioners further submitted that they entered the test on the realisation that it was just a formality and they would all be accommodated in the new project. Later, to oust them they were subjecting to irrelevant and technical test but even then they had qualified the test but all of them feared that they would be shown exit door in the interview. They prayed to the court to direct the Planning Commission to absorb them in the new project, which is relevant to them, and their prior performance was also up to the satisfaction of their superiors. The court after hearing preliminary hearing issued notices to Secretary Planning Commission and heads of relevant sections of the department to furnish a para-wise reply to the points raised in the petition within two weeks time.
