LAHORE - Two days mega event of the energy sector concluded in City, which involved a high level expo of energy technologies and an experts conference on energy. Eight technical papers were presented by experts in the conference and over 20 stalls were projected in the expo. Hundreds of visitors showed keen interest in the program including a distinguished overseas visitor, Maru S Palermo- Economic officer of the US consulate in Lahore. The concluding session was presided over by Pervez Malik - senior special assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab. He distributed shields to the exhibitors and distributed certificates to the experts who presented technical papers. Malik in his address stressed the need to resolve the energy crisis the soonest which is hitting the national economy adversely. He told that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Mian Shahbaz Sharif is following policies to alleviate the sufferings of the down trodden at the earliest. The govt is keen to develop energy resources in the Punjab to make the Province self reliant in Energy. Alternate Energy Development in bringing cheaper electricity and efforts to develop this sector needs to be stepped up. He welcomed recommendations of the Conference and assured all help to business and industry in the Punjab Speaking on the occasion, Mian Fazal Ahmad Chairman of the organizing committee said that the main objective of the Event was to deliberate on the ongoing Energy crisis and find out short and long term pragmatic solutions. The Event has helped to promote interaction between the public and private sectors for solving the energy problems speedily and effectively.
