KARACHI - Sindh Minister for Information, Shazia Marri, has said that Pakistani people are peace loving and country is absolutely safe and secure for every foreigner. She was addressing as chief guest to the certificate distribution ceremony of Malai Language learning course, at the Malaysian Consul General, here on Thursday. Under this course, 11 Pakistani nationals achieved skills of speaking, reading, writing and understanding of basics of Malai language. Shazia Marri dispelled the impression given to the world that Pakistan was unsafe and insecure for foreigners. She told, 'our nation is peace loving and we are fighting against terror. She strongly condemned the shameful act, which was being happened in Karachi for last two days. Many other countries are also passing through a specific situation which is being faced by Pakistan, she maintained. Commenting on Malay language course, she said that it would not only prove helpful in knowing about Malaysian culture but also boost our relations with the brother Islamic country. Languages play important role in bringing people of different countries nearer to each other, she added. She lauded the role of Malaysian Consul General for making arrangements of such course. He further told that promoting languages meant promoting relations with other nations. She congratulated teachers and students of this course for imparting it successfully. In his address, Malaysian Consul General Muhammad Khalid Abdul Razak said that learning a foreign language was key element of cross-cultural communication that not only allows for dialogue in anothers tongue but also gives an insight into foreign cultures. He disclosed that his spouse headed the team of teachers. She always stood beside him to promote Malaysian language and culture. The President Pakistan National Youth Council Mr. Shuja u Allah Khan also spoke on the occasion.
