Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday said that Pakistan Army is fully prepared to deter both conventional and non-conventional forms of threats to the solidarity and integrity of state.

He made these remarks during his visit to Kharian to perform earth-breaking ceremony of the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC).

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif said that Pakistan Army is respected for its achievements and sacrifices the world over. He said that Pakistan Army is ready to deter and defeat any form of aggression across the entire spectrum of threat with its unique accomplishment of confronting both conventional and sub-conventional threat,

Army Chief said that the NCTC would be a state-of-the-art facility with large capacity to impart quality training to troops for combating terrorism in all kinds of terrain. "Since we will have to fight this menace of terror together with other LEAs across the nook and corner of the country, Army will do its part to train paramilitary force, police, constabulary and levies also at this facility," he added. He said the NCTC Pabbi would not only play an important role for training of own troops, it will cater to the growing demand of training requests from other friendly armies also.

Later, the COAS visited the troops under going counter terrorism training exercises, and appreciated the standards achieved. He also paid glowing tributes to the troops participating in ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb for successes achieved so far. Earlier on arrival, the COAS was received by Lt Gen Tariq Khan, Commander 1 Corps Mangla.
