ISLAMABAD - The government on Tuesday slashed petroleum prices up to Rs 2.94 per litre under monthly fuel adjustment plan. According to an official handout, Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to discuss the prices of petroleum products for the month of October. On finance minister’s recommendations, the prime minister approved the new prices. The petrol price has been reduced by Rs 2.94 per liter, high speed diesel 95 paisas per litre, kerosene oil Rs 1.31 per litre, high octane blended component (HOBC) Rs 1.88 and light diesel price has been reduced by 67 paisas per litre. After new rates petrol would be sold for Rs 103.62 per litre, HOBC 131.13, kerosene 95.68, HSD 107.39 and LSD 91.41.The revised prices are for the month of October and would be implemented from today (Wednesday) onward.
