LAHORE - Pakistan Railways has decided to reduce fare by 33 per cent at all express trains to facilitate the passengers on Eid days.

The department announced reduction on all passenger classes—economy and air-conditioned. The decision was taken in a meeting presided by Railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique at department headquarter on Tuesday.

The Railways earns more revenue by announcing decrease in fare on Eid holidays because more passengers travel through trains at discount offer.

The public utility had also announced reduction in fare on Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Railways is running 14 special trains on Eid-ul-Azha from different stations across the country to facilitate the passengers. As per the decision, four trains would run from Karachi to different destinations, three from Lahore, two from Rawalpindi while one each from Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Sargodha and Narowal.
