rawalpindi - The newly elected office bearers of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) have taken the charge of their offices.

Those who assumed their charges included Syed Asad Haider Mashadi as president RCCI, Mian Humayun Parvez as senior vice president and Saboor Malik as vice president. Outgoing president Dr Shimail Daud officially handed over the RCCI office charge to Syed Asad Mashadi in the 54th annual general meeting of the Rawalpindi Chamber held at RCCI on Tuesday. Group Leader Sheikh Muhammad Shabbir, former presidents Sohail Altaf, S.M Naseem and others, members of the Executive Committee, leaders of trade associations, renowned businessmen and a large number of RCCI members were also present on the occasion.

Asad Mashadi, in his first speech as president RCCI, thanked group leader, former presidents and seniors for showing their confidence on him and vowed that he and his team would take every possible step to fulfill the confidence and trust of the seniors and no stone will be left unturned for the betterment of the business community of the region. He demanded of the government that business community should be taken on board in the policy making process. He was of the view that in this way maximum result could be achieved.  Senior vice president Mian Humayun Parvez and vice president Saboor Malik also expressed the same feelings and vowed that they will work as a team and resolving the problems of the businessmen will remain on the top priority of our agenda.

It is worth to be mentioned that Asad Mashadi has been elected President RCCI second time; he had enjoyed the same job in 2008-09. In his first tenure he gave RCCI a take off in business associations at national and international level. He gave the idea to organize All Pakistan Chambers Presidents’ conference and first said conference was organized in 2009 in his first tenure. Business community of the region is hopeful that Mashadi will continue to explore new avenues for promotion of business and industrial activities in the region.
