The suave and soft-spoken Jaswant Singh, a leader of BJP has authored a book titled 'Jinnah; India, Partition, Independence'. Mr. Singh has boldly waxed eloquent in this book about Mr Jinnah as the outstanding leader of the polity in united India, even ahead of Indian icons Jawahar Lal Nehru and Sardar Valhabhai Patel. During BJP's rule of India from 1998 - 2003, Mr Singh was the Foreign Minister of India. Critics in 2001 had blamed the failure of the Agra Summit on Mr. Jaswant Singh's dogmatic approach to the Indian foreign policy. Indeed, he was a very strong minister, much stronger than Mr L.K. Advani who is calling the shots at present from the rostrum of BJP. -A.Q. ANJUM, Rawalpindi, August 28.
