LAHORE - PML-N Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has demanded the govt to take all stakeholders into confidence in the decision of awarding internal autonomy to Gilgit-Baltistan. He objected to govts unilateral decision to approve internal autonomy to Gilgit-Baltistan, saying govt must have taken into confidence the Kashmiri leadership, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir Assembly and NA before making such an important decision. He was talking to Kashmiri leaders at his residence at Raiwind on Monday. Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front President Yaseen Malik, Muslim Conference President Raja Farooq Haider, Peoples Muslim League President Sultan Mehmood Ch, Speaker Shah Ghulam Qaider with 17 member delegation called on Nawaz Sharif. PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq, Secretary General Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Ghulam Dastagir Khan, Khurram Dastagir Khan, Captain Safdar and Saddiqul Farooq and others were present on the occasion. Nawaz said that it would have been better if govt had taken all stakeholders on board. He constituted a committee under the chair of PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq to set up PML-N wing in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. He also decided to visit Pakistan Occupied Kashmir on the invitation of Kashmiri leaders. He said that Kashmiris living on both side of Line of Control were one nation 'Their history, geography, tradition, aspiration and purposes are the same Hence, they should be consulted whenever any decision is taken regarding the future of Kashmir, he added. He said that history testified the fact that desires of people could never be pressed through force. He said that now people had risen against the injustices of past and ready to sacrifice for upholding the supremacy of democracy and Constitution. Kashmiri leaders complained that they were not made part of decision while giving autonomy to Gilgit-Baltistan, formerly called Northern Areas. They said that long-lasting peace could be ensured in the region by inviting leadership of both side of Kashmir in dialogue process over any issue about the Kashmir future. Yaseen Malik said that Kashmir issue should be resolved as per aspiration of Kashmiri people. They criticised the Federal govts Kashmir policy and termed it continuation of Musharrafs mindset. 'There is unrest on the Kashmir policy and interest of Kashmir people are not being respected, they said. They complained that fund of more than Rs 1 billion of Kashmir Council was being used without the consultation of representatives of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
