KARACHI - National Bank of Pakistan has posted profit after tax of Rs 6.28 billion with EPS of Rs 5.84 in first half of calendar year 2009 as against Rs 7.88 billion of the same period of 2008. NBP announced its financial results for the period ended June 30, 2009 on Monday. NBP has witnessed a 20 per cent decline in 1HCY09. Analysts see higher provisions, high funding costs and spike in expenses are key reasons for the decline in earnings. NBP has not announced any payout alongside the results.
