ISLAMABAD - Pakistan and Turkey have agreed to promote bilateral industrial cooperation during a meeting held between Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, and his Turkish counterpart Nihat Ergun. Wattoo is in Turkey nowadays to attend the 78th Izmir International Industrial Fair. According to the press statement issued here on Monday, the federal minister during a sideline meeting with his Turkish counterpart explored the possibilities for promotion of agro-based, automobile, plastic manufacturing, gems & Jewellery, marble & granite machinery, food processing and agricultural implements industries. The meeting concluded that both countries would exchange visits of leading businessmen to translate this interaction into concrete outcome in line with the policy of present government. The businessmen of both the countries would determine the areas of interest during these visits. Nihat Ergun, Turkish Minister for Industries and Trade, showed interest for participation of Pakistani businessmen in the next Izmir International Fairs. Wattoo ensured that Pakistan would seriously consider for the participation of its businessmen in the next fair. On the invitation of Wattoo, Ergun assured that he would visit Pakistan before December this year along with leading businessmen of Turkey. In another meeting with his Bangladeshi counterpart, Manzoor Wattoo discussed the prospects of industrial cooperation between the two countries. The auto parts manufacturing, bicycle machinery manufacturing, textiles, chemicals and agro-based industries were the areas of interest that came under discussion during the meeting.
