LAHORE - The Nation cricket team launched their campaign in the Mobo International Inter-media Super-6 Cup by a thumping 47-run victory against Must FM 103 here at the Wahdat Colony ground on Sunday night. Apart from the title sponsors Mobo International, Sports Journalists Association of Lahore and Punjab Union Journalists are organising the event. Batting first, TheNation, mustered 89 for two. Their openers were simply superb as they gave the team a great start. Yasir Habeeb and Dilshad Rao amassed up 30 and 18 respectively. After Rao left the crease, Anis-ur-Rehman joined Yasir and hit beautiful shots. Just two balls from innings close, burly Asher Butt (five not out) nearly ran out of breath as running for five runs on two balls on a fast outfield and relatively small ground was no mean achievement. Zain and Imran from FM 103 could get one wicket apiece. On the field, The Nation team proved even better as they reduced the FM players to 48 for eight with only Hafiz Zain (10) reaching double figures. Here Anis, who was later declared the man of the match, claimed two wickets while Jam Sajjad also had two and Asif Chaudhary got one. President Lahore Press Club Sarmad Bashir and Test cricketer Salman Butt were the chief guests of the match.
