LAHORE - The Lahore High Court Thursday deferred till May 3 hearing of a petition against foreign assets of about 42 politicians and prominent figures in Pakistan. The petitioner sought courts orders for repatriating foreign assets of the politicians and others, amounting over 50,000 US dollars that had been sent to foreign countries. Deputy Attorney General appeared before the court and sought more time submitting that instructions had not been received from the government in this regard. Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry accepting the request adjourned the hearing till May 3. The petitioner Iftikhar Hussain Rajpoot has made Pervez Musharraf, Farooq Ahmed Khan Legari, PML-N Chief Mian Muhammad Sharif, Ahsan Iqbal, Sharifuddin Pirzada, Malik Qayuum, Wasim Sajjad, PMs Advisor for Science and Technology Senator Sardar Latif Khan Khosa, Former CJP Abul Hameed Dogar, Pervaiz Elahi, Monis Elahi, Saif-ur-Rahman, Shaukat Aziz and others parties in the petition. He prayed the court to order respondents to repatriate their foreign assets if the same are worth over 50,000 US Dollars and also publicly declare as to which other countries citizenship they hold. He also requested court to order police to register FIR against Pervez Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz for looting public wealth.
