LAHORE - Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Khawaja Muhammad Sharif has directed PML-N MNA Malik Riaz to appear before the investigation officer for recording his statement about the incident in which police halted and searched his vehicle and he got them suspended by complaining against them. The CJ was hearing the suo moto notice taken against the suspension of SHO Lower Mall police station and five other police officials for searching vehicle of said MNA. Earlier, CCPO Pervez Rathore appearing before the court said the suspended police officials had already been reinstated and SSP Investigation was holding inquiry into the matter. The chief justice directed the police to record statement of the parliamentarian and submit inquiry report into the matter on April 14. The CCPO also submitted a written report which stated that the MNA Malik Riaz was contacted by SSP Investigation, the inquiry officer, to record his statement but he was on his way to Islamabad. The MNA told the SSP that he would record his statement after returning to Lahore. The CJ observed in his order, The inquiry has not been concluded so far. Let MNA appear before the said inquiry officer who will record his statement and after finalising the inquiry submit his report before this court on next hearing. It is appreciated that in the meanwhile, all the suspended police officials have been reinstated, he further observed. According to the details, the SHO allegedly misbehaved with the PML-N MNA and delayed him as well as his companions for 15 minutes when they refused to let them check arms lying in the vehicle.
