ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has directed all the provinces to make arrangements to reserve at least 2 per cent of total number of seats in medical, engineering and other professional institutions and universities for students hailing from Fata.

PM also directed the Cabinet Division, Education, Trainings and Standards in Higher Education and National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Divisions to make similar arrangements for the institutions falling in the federal capital.  Nawaz Sharif issued these directions with the objective of enabling the mainstreaming of Fata students, who could return to serve in some of the most backward areas and also perform as agents of change and catalysts of modernization.

PM observed that Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) are passing through extremely challenging circumstances and that there is a dearth of quality educational institutions in Fata for the youth.
