ISLAMABAD - President's Bodyguards lifted 23rd Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Challenge Polo Cup 2013 defeating 11 Corps Headquarters in the final played at Peshawar Polo Club Sunday.

Major General Shahibzada Isfandiyar Patudi scored two timely goals in last two chakkars; one with a forceful hit from the long distance before taking round of whole of the ground with his galloping horse while second by converting a 40-yard penalty with accuracy to help his team clinch the to clinch the coveted trophy with a 6-41/2 victory.

Othe members of the President’s Bodyguards team include Lt Col (Retd) Shaukat Ali Khan, a two handicap player, one handicapper Saqib and other handicapper Ihsan Manzoor. It was President’s Bodyguards second Cup after winning the IGFC Cup and the team really pumped up for the tough matches.

The 11 Corps team entered into the final with half-handicap comprising Lt Col Isman Azad, a two handicapper, Captain Saad Rabbani, a minus two handicapper, one handicapper Hav Israr and Lt Col Mashood, a two handicapper.

The tournament commenced on 27th of last month in which five team including PAF Eagle, PAF Falcon, Frontier Corps Headquarters, 11 Corps Headquarters and President’s Bodyguards participatedHigh ranking military and civil officials and a large number of polo enthusiasts witnessed the match. Air Marshal Asim Suleman, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Administration) Pakistan Air Force was the chief guest on the occasion. He gave away prizes amongst the players and awarded the Chief of the Air Staff Challenge Cup to the winning team.

Chief of the Air Staff Challenge Cup Polo Tournament was introduced in 1985 and ever since it has been a regular feature in the sports calendar of the provincial capital.
