LAHORE - PTI will widen the December 22nd protest against price-hike to country-wide level and will not limit it only to the provincial capital, claims PTI senior leader, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed.

Mehmood, who is also Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly, talking to the party leaders on Sunday at his private secretariat warned the provincial government that they would not let them conceal the facts about Rawalpindi tragedy.

He alleged that the government instead of taxing the rich has opened several avenues for them to evade tax.

He said that the country could not progress till the taxing of the rich, as the government was increasing price-hike and unemployment by taxing the working classes only.  Meanwhile, PTI Punjab chapter held a meeting to deliberate over the preparations concerning the December 22nd protest demonstration.  Party’s provincial leaders, Ijaz Chaudhry, Dr Yasmin Rashid and others attended the meeting, besides local leaders of the provincial capital.  They directed the participating leaders to ensure maximum presence of the party activists residing in their areas for making the protest successful in the stronghold of the ruling party.

They also appealed to the people of the province to participate in the protest to press the government for ending the miseries of working classes by curtailing the soaring prices of various items.
