PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that there is a need to protect the areas bordering with Afghanistan in order to control militant activities our soil.

Regarding the Afghan refugees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA, he said that registered Afghan refugees are our guests, while a roadmap will be devised for their volunteer repatriation to their country. He, however, said that a strict action would be taken against illegal Afghans staying elsewhere in the province.

He said this while addressing a “Shuhada-e-Amn Conference” organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Peshawar here at the Nishtar Hall Thursday.

JI Chief Sirajul Haq in his address on the occasion said that the Peshawar school attack was tragic which has no example in the human history.

The JI ameer asked the federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments to award Nishan-e-Haider to the martyred principal and students of the school.

He called for the establishment of Islamic Sharia courts in the country to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country.

“We are a free nation and we should take decisions independently,” the JI ameer said stressing the need to give a better governance system to the people of FATA.

He said the all political parties have given mandate to the government to devise a strategy to control terrorism.

JUI-S chief Maulana Samiul Haq termed the Peshawar incident a conspiracy against the Muslim world, adding that people of religious seminaries will never even think to kill such innocent children.

About the idea of setting up of military courts, he said the step was reflects failure of the existing courts.

“We have always demanded reforms in the judicial system,” he reminded adding his party is supporting the military courts, while keeping in view in the present circumstances.

On the occasion, besides JI Provincial Ameer Prof Ibrahim Khan, leaders of various political parties including Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) Ameer Maulana Samiul Haq, Awami National Party (ANP) Central General Secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Provincial Ameer Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Central Leader Iqbal Zafar Jehgra, Qawmi Watan Party (QWP) central leader Hashim Babar, and JI leader and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Local Bodies Inayatullah Khan addressed the peace conference.
