RAWALPINDI - The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out two operations against the drug mafia and seized huge quantity of narcotics, inforrmed ANF HQs spokesman yesterday. According to him, ANF Quetta launched two different intelligence-led operations against narcotics dealers at Qilla Saifullah and Pishin and recovered 7.8 ton opium and 1.67 ton amphetamine.

He said that ANF Quetta raided a desolate site situated at Killi Sherdil Khan, Tehsil Muslim Bagh, District Qilla Saifullah, which resulted in seizure of 4,313kg of opium and 1,672kg amphetamine. In addition, ANF Quetta also seized 3,489kg of opium from unpopulated site of Killi Sardar Kamal Khan, Tehsil Barshore, Pishin. Both the drug consignments were concealed at desolate sites outside the populated area, he mentioned.

As per preliminary details, the drug consignments were placed at a cache site for handing over to some other narcotics gangs. On receipt of safe signals, the drug consignments were to be transported to some safe location situated at coastal belt for smuggling abroad via sea.

Both cases were registered at respective police stations and further investigation was underway, the spokesman informed.
