KARACHI - Three people were killed in the ongoing violence in different parts of the metropolis on Sunday.

Two people were shot dead in Karimabad area within the jurisdiction of the Azizabad Police Station. The incident took place at a bazaar on Link Road. The victims were heading some where on a motorcycle when unidentified armed men, riding a motorcycle, sprayed them with bullets. As a result, they received multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot.

After committing the crime, the culprits fled the scene, however.

The bodies were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities. The victims were identified as 35-year-old Noor Mohammad, son of Gul Marjan, and Shakeel, 31, son of Shabbir Ahmed.

According to SHO Haseeb Qureshi, Noor Mohammad was a resident of Saeedabad Baldia Town, while Shakeel was a resident of Faqeer Colony of Orangi Town.

The official suspected that it was an incident of targeted killing. However, no heirs of the victims contacted the police until the filing of this report. Later, the bodies were moved to a morgue for identification.

Separately, body of a man was recovered from Jaama Cloth within the remits of the Aram Bagh Police Station. Identity of the victim could not be ascertained. Police officials said the victim had received three bullets and that unidentified men threw his body on the road near a local hotel. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities. The officials said the victim appeared to be Katchi-speaking. Later, the body was moved to a morgue for identification. A case has been registered against unidentified killers and investigation is in an advanced stage.
