KARACHI - Commissioner Roshan Ali Sheikh has warned strict action against advertisers and no-objection certificate (NOC)-issuing officials if any casualty reported due to the collapse of any billboard or hoarding during the monsoon rains in the metropolis.    He was presiding over a meeting on Sunday to review arrangements to cope with the situation arising out of rain-related incidents during forthcoming monsoon season.   He directed the officials of concerned departments to take all precautionary measures to ensure safety of lives and property during rains.

The commissioner directed the concerned departments to carry out a survey of billboards and hoardings installed on roads and atop buildings and remove all dilapidated hoardings, which may cause casualties or loss to public property in the expected thunderstorm in the monsoon.

No negligence in this respect will be tolerated and strict action would be taken against those responsible, he warned.
