RAWALPINDI - Special Judge Central (SJC) Tuesday extended the interim bails accused of National Police Foundation (NPF) land scam including PML-N MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan as the accused went to Saudia to perform Haj. While taking up the case, SJC Syed Akhlaq Ahmed Shah gave this extension 12th times and postponed the hearing till November 19, 2011. During the hearing, SJC observed that ethically, it was better for the accused to inform the court before leaving for Hajj and he termed it as an inappropriate act of the accused. Earlier, two applications along with PML-N MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan passport, visa and ticket were produced before the court stating that the accused had left for Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj and it was expected that he would return on November 19. In the second application, the court was informed that Sahaukat Aziz Siddiqui, the counsel for accused, has been nominated for Islamabad High Court (IHC) as judge. Therefore, he needed some time to change his lawyers. On the other hand, the prosecutor opposed the applications stating that the defense counsel was using delaying tactics. SJC Syed Akhlaq Ahmed Shah accepted both the applications and adjourned till November 19, 2011 the hearing of NPF land scam.
