LAHORE Doctors have threatened to go on strike and close all facilities with the exception of emergency at Sheikh Zayed Hospital from Wednesday (today) to protest against attack of lawyers on the hospital and registration of FIR against three healthcare providers. The representative bodies of doctors had given 48 hours deadline to the government for withdrawal of FIR that would end on Wednesday morning. The doctors also held a demonstration outside Sheikh Zayed Hospital on Tuesday, causing massive traffic jams for a couple of hours. They demanded cancellation of licenses of the Lawyers who attacked the hospital and action against SHO. They also chanted slogans against lawyers and the Police officials. Addressing the protesting doctors, leaders of PMA and YDA highlighted the gravity of situation. They appealed to the Chief Minister Punjab and Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the issue and get the FIR against the doctors withdrawn.
