OUR STAFF REPORTER ISLAMABAD - German parliamentarian Elke Hofe on Tuesday called on Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Senator Saleem Saifullah and said that drone technology was serious threat to worlds peace and it should be banned on permanent basis. Talking to the Senator, Elike Hofe was of the view that permanent army control by any country over Afghanistan was impossible and Pakistan and Afghanistan should work for regional solution of their problems as peace and strong Pak-India relations were in the best interest of this region. German Parliamentarian Elke Hofe stated that all those countries that had vested interest in Afghanistan, should carry out comprehensive measures for peace in Afghanistan on permanent basis. She also showed concerns that drone technology was being developed with each passing day and the days were not so far when even under-developed countries would be able to become self-sufficient in developing drone technology and the peace of the world would be destroyed forever. She urged the powerful nations to ban drone technology. Senator Salim Saifullah Khan said that Pakistan and Germany were true friends and always enjoyed good bilateral relations. He thanked German government for timely help of Pakistan in every critical hour and that was why the people of Pakistan had great regard for Germany and its people. He highlighted that Pak-India relations could be normalised if the issue of Kashmir was resolved. He also proposed that parliamentary level meetings between Pakistan and Germany should be enhanced so that parliamentarians of both the countries might share their experience for the benefit of their respective nations.
