GUJRAT-The District Police Officer Tuesday suspended seven cops for allegedly helping an arrested leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to escape the police custody.

The DPO said that PTI leader Chaudhry Sadaqat along with his supporters was arrested by the police on Monday evening from Daleywala area of Kharian on charges of creating anarchy and inciting mob to attend the PTI march of November 2, in Islamabad. However, with the assistance of some policemen, the detained PTI leader managed to escape from the custody of the police.

Taking notice of the incident, the police officer suspended seven cops including a police post in-charge over alleged involvement in helping PTI leader to flee.
