ISLAMABAD -  A major of Pakistan Army embraced shahadat while six soldiers were injured in a roadside bomb blast during a search operation in South Waziristan Agency yesterday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major Imran embraced shahadat due to an IED blast during a cordon and search operation in Wana’s Rustam Bazaar in South Waziristan Agency while six other soldiers were injured.

A search operation is underway in the area after the blast, however, no arrest has yet been made, the ISPR said.


Staff Reporter from Peshawar adds: Bomb disposal unit foiled a major terror bid by defusing four kilograms of explosive material on Pajgi Road in Peshawar on Tuesday.

Faqirabad police stated that they received information regarding a suspected explosive device near Bacha Khan Markaz. Soon after receiving the information, the bomb disposal unit reached the site and defused four kilograms explosive device with extreme care.

Faqirabad Police arrested several suspects during a search operation and registered First Information Report (FIR) against the unknown persons.
