KARACHI-Fashion Pakistan Week 2016 is playing host to the fashionistas of fashion, entertainment and corporate industries. With top notch socialites gracing it with their upbeat fashion sense, the show has received tremendous feedback making it one of the most high profile events of the fashion world.  The second day of FPW16 opened up with bridal showcase of Shehla Chatoor with her stunning bridal wear signature style collection of elegant and intricate embellishments. The designs blew away and mesmerized the people sitting in the fashion show.  The business of fashion at the second day was more promising and entertaining. Day 2 of the three-day extravaganza showcased the latest bridal trends across the nation. As always the designers left the audience awestruck with their majestic collections and theatrics at the FPW16.  Much like every year FPW showcases not only some of the biggest designers but also welcomes the aspiring designers with great talent both domestically and internationally. The audience at the event included the fashion forward people and the serious business people who had to come and watch the latest trends in the industry.  The grey carpet was a star-studded affair with who’s who of the entertainment and fashion industry and corporate giants coming together in elegant mix of glitz.

 

Show Opener: Shehla Chatoor

Shehla Chatoor opened the show with her beautiful bridal wear in her signature style of elegant and intricate embellishments on the collection.

Huma Adnan Bride showcased embroidered and sequin work finesse in her sculpted silhouettes. The collection titled ‘Midnight Garden’ combined the scattered and placed floral in rich gem colors such as, deep purples, beetroot extracts, cranberry concentrates and peachy pastels that remained apt and trendy for the Winter festive season.

 

 

 

HEM by Sumbul Asif’s

Sumbul Asif’s latest collection Golden Cage, showcased the use of local crafts with an experimental twist comprising of neutral shades for an ethereal feel. The entire range focused on reviving various embroidery techniques to curate unique looks. The collection had been created over a variety of light and often diaphanous fabrics such as chiffon, silk, net and organza to add a sense of romance to this contemporary baroque line.

 

The menswear collection by Arsalan IQbal

‘Baroque Star’ (‘Ba-Rock Star) by The House of Arsalan Iqbal was indubitably inspired by the exuberance, and grandeur of 16th century Baroque painting and architecture with its emphasis on clear, easily interpreted detail. Myriad type of uniquely crafted thread were used for embellishment, including a novel technique which used different diameters of threads which in combination created a shadow 3D effect, incorporated into exotic patterns and intricate embroidery.

 

 Mohib Mirza was the showstopper for the designer.

Suzain Fatima Pairs in monochrome black with an embellished gold and pick jacket by Obaid Sheikh designer.

 

Hareem Farooq kept her look polished in a midnight blue column dress and gold accessories. The classic

hair and makeup elevated her glam factor.

 

Mohib Mirza channeled opulent sophistication in

a black and gold ensemble by the house of Arslan.

 

Anoushe Shahid was simultaneously experimental in a hot off ramp HSY outfit. The sleek styling and edgy

lilac glitter lip pulls the look together.

 Natasha Kamal’s collection reinterpreted and modernized time-treasured classics. This break away from convention was an attempt to capture the freedom and independence we want for ourselves. Stylish statement pieces created using signature gota, appliqué, intricate beadwork, embroidery and cutwork detailing adding both textural interest and create powerful imagery. It’s was a bold collection with tailored silhouettes, sumptuous fabrications and couture details. Natasha Kamal placed great emphasis on structure and symmetry. Whether realized in softly tailored silhouettes or voluminous skirts. Ayesha Khan and Gohar rasheed was the showstopper for the designer.

 

 

 

Celebration of Love by The house of Deepak Perwani

The house of Deepak Perwani collection took inspiration from the infinite and transformative force of love, which makes one go beyond oneself. The collection took us from the infinite array of colors to the everlasting radiance of gold. The house of Deepak Perwani presented ISHQ.
