ISLAMABAD - Khorana Sajjad and Sana Urooj guided Karachi to 45-run victory in the inaugural match of the All-Pakistan Mrs Malik Saad Invitational Women Cricket Cup 2016, which commenced at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Minister for Industries Abdul Karim Khan was the chief guest at the opening ceremony. The players of Karachi, Mardan, Peshawar Green and Peshawar White were introduced to the chief guest. Organising secretary Amjad Aziz Malik, Karachi manager Ambar, Raham Bibi, Najma Qazi and Gul Nar, officials and a large number of women spectators were also present on the occasion.

Karachi, batting first, were bowled out for 124 in 19.5 overs. Openers Khorana and Sana provided a solid opening stand of 81 runs off 56 balls with Sana hammering cracking 49 hitting 9 fours and Khorana contributing 29. After their departure, only medium pacer Salmana (13) could reach double figures. Sana Liaqat clinched 4-24 while Hira claimed 3-9 and Afsheen got 1-21.

In reply, Peshawar were bundled out for 79 runs. Aysha slammed unbeaten 40 hitting 4 fours and one six while Sana contributed 14. Rida, Shabnam and Salmana took one wicket each. The match was supervised by Hajra Sarwar and Sohail Zaman.
