KARACHI - The modernization of educational system has played a significant role in raising the academic and research level. This was stated by the Vice-Chancellor of Karachi University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser, on Tuesday.

Speaking at the annual function of the Karachi University Teachers’ Society (KUTS), he was of the view that the culture of Research can play a pivotal role in the academic growth and development of universities.  Teachers are the guardians of the educational system and the nation has high hopes attached with them, he further remarked.  

The Vice-Chancellor was of the view that modernization of educational system played significant role in raising the academic and research level and that the culture of research and academics must be promoted in the varsities.  Sincere and honest teachers are a prime asset to University of Karachi, he further stated.  Dr Qaiser maintained that during his tenure as the Vice-Chancellor, record number of selection boards are held and all remaining selection boards will be held by December 2016.

Karachi University despite financial crisis is trying very hard to provide better and better facilities to the teachers, he said and asked the Sindh government to release ‘bailout grant to the University of Karachi for addressing the financial deficit of the varsity’.

Vice-Chancellor said that resources are vital for research and research is impossible without financial resources.

President KUTS Prof Dr Shakeel Farooqui presented the Annual Performance Report of KUTS.
