MIRPUR (AJK)-The escalation of tension on Line of Control is a matter of grave concern for the people seeking early peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue, a traders’ body said.

Talking to newsmen here, Markazi Anjuman Tajran (Ittehad Group) President Chaudhry Mahmood Ahmed said, “The fact is that Pakistan always endeavoured a new shape to good neighbourly relationship between India and Pakistan to ensure harmony. Pakistan also wants to promote economic developments for enhancement of social and economic progress through the peaceful settlement of all long standing issues including the core issue of Jammu & Kashmir.”

“But in response to the sincere peace efforts and approach of Pakistan, India always gave negative and hostile response by adopting the aggressive posture by violating the ceasefire at the LoC and the Working boundary by resorting to firing, time and again, targeting the innocent civilians dwelling along the forward areas,” Ch Mahmood said.

He warned India to refrain from any misadventure against Pakistan or AJK. Entire Pakistani nation including the people of AJK would safeguard every inch of the motherland in case of any aggression from across the LoC, WB or the international border facing India, by fighting shoulder to shoulder with the valiant armed forces of Pakistan.

“The people of AJK would turn AJK into the graveyard of the Indian forces if they dare launch attack against Pakistan or AJK,” the Kashmiri traders leader declared.

He condemned the Indian brutalities against freedom-loving people in occupied Kashmir for last 113 days and frequent unprovoked firing by the Indian troops targeting the populous areas along the LoC in Neelam valley, Nikayal and Haveili besides the working boundary in Sialkot sector.

He urged New Delhi to shun aggressive posture in the region and instead of it, immediately move for peaceful resolution of the differences including the Kashmir conflict through meaningful dialogues which have also been suggested by the international community time and again for the sake of emergence of lasting peace in the region.

The president emphasised that it was necessary for India to take immediate steps to release all the Kashmiri political detainees who are languishing in various prisons in occupied Jammu & Kashmir and the Indian jails and withdraw her (India) armed troops from the turbulent occupied Jammu & Kashmir state.

Mahmood Ch said that the prosperity of the region lies in harmonious relationship between the two neighbouring countries and particularly by realisation of urgent importance of the settlement of Kashmir issue by facilitating the people of Jammu & Kashmir to decide their future in exercise of the right to self-determination. “To achieve the objective India has to relax its stubborn and aggressive policy stance by admitting the true cause of the freedom of Jammu & Kashmir state,” he said.
