LAHORE: The crime investigation agency of the city police yesterday claimed to have smashed a gang of motorcycle lifters by arresting its two members during a raid in Iqbal Town.

The police team also seized 16 stolen motorcycles and master keys from their possession. The arrested bandits had a crime history, a police official said. The bandits were identified as Yousaf Ali and Ali Nawaz.

According to a police spokesman, the raid conducted by CIA Iqbal Town was part of the police campaign against the elements involved in street crimes. During preliminary investigation, the bandits confessed to the police their involvement in several cases of street robberies. Further investigations were underway.–Staff Reporter
