Meezan Bank recognised as ‘best bank to work for’ in Pakistan

KARACHI (PR): Meezan Bank, Pakistan’s first and largest Islamic bank, has been recognised as the Best Bank to work for in Pakistan. It is also among Pakistan’s top ten places to work at, as announced by the Pakistan Society of Human Resource Management (PSHRM), which is a professional association for HR practitioners.

The awards were given by PSHRM in collaboration with Engage Consulting at a formal ceremony held at Karachi recently. In the 10-year history of these awards, this is first time that a Bank has been recognized for creating a great place to work for its employees. Meezan Bank is the only bank in Pakistan’s financial industry to be recognized for its focus on best HR practices. Khalid Zaman Khan, Head of Human Resources of Meezan Bank, received the awards on behalf of the Bank.

A total of 35 organizations participated in the Best Place to Work Survey, a study that was first introduced in 2008 and is conducted every other year since then. Among all the participating organizations, the Top 10 organizations which scored the highest were awarded the shields of the ‘Best Place to Work’ in Pakistan. Meezan Bank had also received 3rdPrize for ‘Employer of the Year’ by Employers Federation of Pakistan last month.



Asian Development Tour at Defence Raya Club

LAHORE (PR): Asian Development Tour, the 2nd highest international tournament of Asia, will be held at Defence Raya Golf and Country Club from November 2 – 5, 2017.

This was stated by Defence Raya Golf Club Secretary Brig (r) Sikandar Hayat in a press briefing held at the club on Wednesday and was attended and addressed by Secretary Pakistan Golf Federation Brig Nayyar Afzal and Unho Park, manager tour and player affairs of Asian Development Tour.

Brig (r) Sikandar said besides top ranking professional golf players from all over the country, 50 top ranking international players from across the world will also participate in the championship.

 This tournament is being organized with the objective of projecting soft image of the country and showcasing real Pakistan which is peace loving, vibrant and a progressive country.

Professional players participating in these matches have the capacity to demonstrate excellent golfing skill.



Hubco wins GE ‘Digital Innovator of Year’ award


KARACHI (PR): The largest independent power producer (IPP) in Pakistan Hub Power Company Limited has won the GE Digital Innovator of the Year 2017 Award in the ‘Optimizing Operations Category’. The award was received by Khalid Mansoor, Chief Executive, Hubco, in San Francisco, California at the Minds + Machines, Industrial Internet Conference.

“The Digital Innovator of the Year award is a testament of our efforts in transforming Hubco into a digitally innovative corporation,” said Mansoor.

Last year Hubco embarked the Industrial Internet Platform (IIoT) by signing a strategic agreement with General Electric for the digital transformation of its operations to achieve maximum efficiency and reduce maintenance cost.

Mansoor further stated that the project known as Predictivity Enhancement and Performance Improvement (PEPI) will empower Hub Power Company to analyze, predict and achieve efficiency across its operations with minimal changes to the existing hardware.
