PESHAWAR - A meeting of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Apex Committee was held on Wednesday, chaired by Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra.

The meeting was attended by chief minister KP and corps commander Peshawar, besides others. The forum reviewed security situation in the province and Fata and the operation Radd-ul-Fasaad. A detailed briefing was given by the military officials on peace and stability, progress on various development projects in Fata and measures taken to enhance Pak-Afghan border management.

The participants acknowledged the efforts of army, intelligence and the law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism and pledged that joint efforts would continue to energise National Action Plan (NAP) and eradicate root causes of terrorism and militancy. The participants appreciated the tremendous efforts being undertaken by security forces in border management, especially construction of the border fence to help control terrorists’ cross-border movement.

The forum also discussed Fata reforms in detail and pledged to boost the process by constituting a committee to chalk out plans for future course of action. It was also decided that efforts be made to ensure that the benefits of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) are shared by Fata. The civil officials of KP government and Fata Secretariat also briefed the participants on various development projects.
