LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the PML-N government is committed to meeting the energy needs and maintaining peace in the country. According to a handout, the chief minister was talking to a delegation of PML-N office-bearers in London.

“The PML-N has taken solid steps for the revival of economy. Hard work has been done for handing over a peaceful, prosperous and sovereign Pakistan to the future generation. This is the reason that Pakistan has been moving towards the right direction due to the untiring efforts of the PML-N government,” he said. The CM went on: “Thousands of megawatts electricity has been added to the national grid due to the completion of a number of energy projects. Four major energy projects have been completed in just 22 months and the completion of ongoing projects will ensure sufficient electricity in the future.” He took a swipe at the former rulers for what he called looting public money in the name of development

“The talented youth was deprived of their rights due to the violation of merit and the past rulers remain engaged in looting spree.  When we launched development a sit-in group attempted to bar us from doing so. They just added to public problems. They have nothing to do with public service,” he said and hoped such people would be rejected in the upcoming general elections.
