RAJANPUR - At least 35 passengers were rescued when an overloaded ferry capsized here in Indus River near Kot Mithan, the other day.

The ferry was coming from Rahim Yar Khan District, carrying 35 passengers, a tractor and some motorcycles towards Mithan Kot.

The people on the bank rescued 35 passengers but the motorcycles and tractor sank.

It is to be noted that a mile away from Mithan Kot city, the temporary bridge usually remains intact at creek-I of Indus River in the past, but this year the bridge has been suspended for unknown reasons.

Social circles have demanded the government to restore the bridge to facilitate the residents of the area.
