BAHAWALPUR -Cholistan Development Council (CDC) Director Farooq Ahmad Khan said that the Punjab government had been meting out step-motherly treatment to the people of Bahawalpur region.

Talking to The Nation here the other day, he said that the shifting of 11 posts of lectures from Govt Sadiq Egerton College to Lahore was another discrimination against the district.

"On the one hand, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif make tall claims regarding education for all without any discrimination and spending of billions of rupees on the development of southern Punjab especially Bahawalpur, but on the other hand such discriminatory acts expose the real face of the Punjab rulers," he pointed out.

Farooq Khan claimed that there were several examples of discrimination not only in the education but other departments as well and the local leadership was the responsible for these unjustified steps.

He mentioned some other steps like occupation of land of Cholistan, non-equitable distribution of irrigation water and appointment of ineligible people in different departments.

He demanded the Punjab chief minister to compensate all such discriminatory steps and cancel the notification of transfer of lectures posts from Bahawalpur.
