HAFIZABAD – Work at the Qadirabad Barrage and Qadirabad Residential Colony has come to a standstill following the disconnection of electricity supply by Gepco due to non-payment Rs4 million dues.

Qadirabad Barrage Executive Engineer Muhammad Jameel said that the functioning of the Barrage has been badly affected due to disconnection of electricity. He said that Rs850,000 had been paid to Gepco even then the supply had been disconnected. He demanded immediate restoration of power keeping in view the imminent danger of flood. He appealed to the minister of water and power to order immediate restoration of electricity.
