ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Sunday directed the Economic Affairs Division (EAD) for expediting work on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) related projects.

The minister chaired a meeting to review the important economic projects under the aegis of EAD. “Secretary EAD Saleem Sethi gave a detail update about financing arrangements of rehabilitation of TDPs,” said a statement. The minister on this occasion referred to recent agreement signed with China on award of special grant of $10 million, supporting Pakistani government in rehabilitation of FATA’s IDPs and promoting social development in the area.

Ishaq Dar also emphasised proper utilisation of these funds and said the government was deeply focusing on resettlement of TDPs. He said that all possible efforts would be made in this regard. The minister also sought details about projects and programmes that EAD envisaged to be implemented in FATA with the assistance of Chinese government. Additional Secretary Finance and other senior officials of the Ministry of Finance and EAD attended the meeting.
