Eight persons were killed while 27 other sustained multiple injuries, 13 of whom critical, in three different incidents occurred here on Sunday.

A bus (LZB-9021) was on the way to Sargodha. When it reached near Thathi Behlolpur on Pindi Bhattian-Sargodha Road, a recklessly driven truck coming from opposite direction collided head-on it. As a result the bus driver Muhammad Imran, truck helper Sada Hussain and three unidentified persons killed on the spot while 24 others including five women sustained injuries. The injured were shifted to Allied Hospital Faisalabad in critical condition.

Similarly, three persons were killed while another seriously injured when their rivals opened indiscriminate firing on their car on Pindi Bhattian-Hafizabad Road near Qila Sahib Singh, as a sequel of old enmity.

According to police source, Qaiser Chadhar, son of Ali Muhammad along with his two gunmen Faisal Ali, son of Basharat Ali and Muhammad Afzaal, son of Muhammad Anwar of Jahanian was on the way to Hafizabad in his car (CH-1428).

When he reached near Qila Sahib Singh, unidentified accused lying in ambush, opened firing on the car, killing the three persons in the car. Later, the accused raided the dera of deceased Qaiser Chadhar in Jahanian village and started firing on the villagers present there. As a result Muhammad Ihsanullah, son of Muhammad Asghar was also seriously injured.

It is to be noted that Qaisar Chadhar had married Saima but she had got divorce from him and married a young man Adnan alias Dani of Wingay village. About six months back, Saima visited a clinic on Kassoki Road Hafizabad for getting medicines when she was shot at and killed on the spot and a case against Qaisar Chadhar and five others had been registered.

However, Chadhar succeeded in getting bail from a court. The police have shifted the dead bodies to the city morgue. Another Sheikh Munir Hussain alias Kala, a local prize bond dealer was shot at and seriously injured while deprived of cash and prize bonds worth Rs1.2 million by three muggers near Jamia Masjid Qadeem, the busiest locality of the city.

Due to serious condition of the injured he was referred to a Lahore Hospital.

It is to be recalled that Munir Hussain’s nephew Sheikh Aamir Shabbir was murdered and also deprived of prize bonds and cash worth million of rupees few years ago while another Sheikh Irfan Shabbir was critically injured and deprived of cash and prize bonds few months ago but no accused could be traced so far by the police.
