Islamabad - The preparations to celebrate the Independence Day has been started in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Shopkeepers and vendors in various markets including F-7 Jinnah Super, G-9 Karachi Company, Abpara Market, Commercial Market, Saddar and Raja Bazar, have set stalls to sell national flags, posters, buntings, badges etc.

The people, especially the children, are enthusiastically purchasing items to celebrate the Independence Day with zeal and zest. Shoaib, a shopkeeper at Abpara Market told APP that particularly the decoration items including national flags, multi-coloured badges, Minar-e-Pakistan models and portraits of Quaid-e-Azam and other national heroes are getting high demands. The business of these items at all big stores as well as roadside vendors remains on peak between August 1 to 14, he added.
