KHAIRPUR  - A hardened dacoit with head money was encountered by Khairpur police on Sunday.

According to SSP Khairpur Sajid Hussain Khokhar the police on receiving information reached near Tharimirwah where dacoit opened fire on police party.

After half an hour, one dacoit was killed while others managed to flee from the spot. The killed dacoit was later identified as Rano Rind of Thull district Jecobabad. SSP told that the deceased criminal was wanted in 18 heinous crimes to Khairpur police while the government had announced Rs 1 million as his head money.

Mean while A-section police claimed to have arrested Ghaulam Mustaffa, notorious gangster after encounter which too place near Wari Goth at Kandhra link road.

SHO A-section said that arrested dacoits were wanted in a number of crimes. A rifle was also recovered from his possession.

Boy drowned: Another boy drowned in Indus River flood waters near Ulra village on Sunday. According to Piryaloi police, Wakeel Narejo-12 drowned in village Khanan Narejo katchha area of Indus River when the village flood water submerged the entire village. The body of deceased could not be traced till the filing of story. Meanwhile, a man was electrocuted near Pir Jo Goth on Sunday.

According to details Nadeem Shah-24 was repairing a pedestal fan in his house at village Palejani near Pir jo Goth when he was electrocuted. He was brought to Pir Jo hospital where doctors confirmed his death.

Cash prize to SHO B-section: On Sunday, cash prize was awarded to SHO B-section for good performance.

According to detail monthly crimes review meeting was held at SSP office which was chaired by SSP Khairpur Sajjid Hussain Khokhar. SSP Khairpur handed Rs 50000 cash to SHO B-section Khairpur Sadoro Khan Lashari on his good performance.

Addressing the meeting SSP said that the situation of all district is under control. He urged police to watch and ensure law and order situation while any cop found involved with criminals or crime would be punished. He said every month cops will be awarded on their performance.
