Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) President Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif have all strongly condemned the act of terror in Diamir/Chilas area in which girls’ schools were torched and ransacked.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan took to twitter to condemn the act of violence as well. The PTI chairman called the act, ‘Shocking and condemnable.’ “Torching of schools in Gilgit Baltistan (GB), more than half of them girls’ schools is unacceptable,” Imran Khan said.

The cricketer-turned politician also said that his government would ensure security for schools as PTI is committed to focusing on education, esp girls’ education, “which is integral to Naya Pakistan,” he said.

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif also expressed his concern regarding the brutal act. The PML-N president said, “The burning down of schools in Gilgit Baltistan is a matter of grave concern.”
