KARACHI – Two men were gunned down and another wounded in separate acts of violence in different parts of the metropolis on Sunday.Bullet-riddled body of a man was found near the Government Girls College, Landhi No 6, within the remits of the Awami Colony Police Station.According to police officials, the victim, identified as Akhtar Hussain, 26, son of Yaqoob, left his home on Saturday night, but did not return. His body was found near the college. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy, and later handed over to the heirs. The officials suspected that unidentified culprits might have killed him after taking him captive. They suspected that Akhtar Hussain might have been killed over personal dispute. Further investigation is in progress.A young man, namely Adnan Memon, was shot dead and his friend Danish wounded by unidentified attackers within the precincts of the Nabi Baksh Police Station.Police officials said the two friends were sitting outside a shop, when unidentified assailants, riding on a motorbike, sprayed them with bullets. They received multiple bullets and were ferried to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where doctors pronounced Adnan as brought dead. Danish was stated to be in critical condition. The motive behind the attack could not be ascertained until the filing of this report.
